The Nitty Gritty

Before creating an account, make sure your name is Americanized - unless you’re roleplaying a zip - but most aren’t. Most Italians are beyond their fifth and sixth generation within their family trees. A lot of their first names are predominantly American because of it, so try to simmer down on the Giuseppes, Vincenzos and Silvestros.

Here’s a couple links for American first names:

As for last names, avoid the utmost common last names like, “Russo,” “Colombo" and “Gambino” et al. In addition, try not to use names people are already using just to avoid confusion and conflict...

Here’s two solid sources for Italian last names:

These are just the guidelines for American-born Italians. Remember that you can roleplay whatever you want, and there are no restrictions for players who want to pull off non-Italian characters.

If you are content with your name. Sign up and all you have to wait for is admin approval.

Now that you have a name, you need a way in. Here is some advice...

Most people hang around or start working for a business we run. Sure, that’s a way to get in, definitely, but there are alternatives to getting involved with us. That method is too common and could take you even longer to get associated with.

First and foremost, we’re always on the go. A lot of our members are freelancers doing their own gigs away from our joints. That’s just how it is, so instead of using a legitimate front as a crutch, go out there and improvise.

Perhaps your character is a rookie criminal broadening your horizons and you accidentally get involved. That’s one helluva creative way to get in and carries more developmental fuel down the road.

Another instance is helping a guy out in a conflict somewhere inside of a club or something. Make friends with a guy and let the rest unfurl.

However, the best way to join is to prove to an associate that you’re an earner and you aren’t some liability. The mob is crafted on earning money, so your character has to show the will and drive to get there. For example, selling some product to an associate will get you places, too. That guy’s probably going to want to do business again, see what I mean? It’s just a matter of improv.

Stick outside the box. Don’t jump into your character hoping to get associated quick either. It won’t work like that, so merely take your time and authentically build a character. Soak up every scenario and work towards a goal.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask, but keep in mind that we aren’t going to hold your hand the whole way through. It’s up to you to initiate and be independent - just like it is in character.

The Big Picture

Keep in mind to roleplay for your character and not for progression. It’s hard not to get wrapped up in the thought of holding power or reputation, but that can all come later on. You should prioritize making the best out of what you got.

A lot of people think being the perfect member is key.

Nah, it’s not. Missing your weekly payment, getting into financial problems, beefing with someone or any flawed nature is OK. In fact, everyone would rather see that being showcased instead of the same ol robotic mobster. Think of it like this: Getting into debt with someone can be a way in too, you know?

Think about all of the possibilities when you roleplay, improvise creative scenarios and don’t stare at progression with tunnel vision. There’s more to roleplay than that shit, anyway.
